So, after a year or so I"m finally going to finish the SBR'd lower I have sitting in my closet, I have the paperwork back from the ATF, approved for my SBR
But I want to do everything correctly.
Right now, I have a very standard lower, build off of DSA blemished lower they had on sale a couple of years back
with this LPK
Do I need to alter or add anything special to the lower to ensure that everything works without breaking with a 10.5" upper?
I don't know what upper I'm going to get either, suggestions on that would be welcome as well.
thanks
You can register the lower stripped, it's not a problem. You will need to decide what barrel length, caliber, overall length with stock extended the weapon is going to be though when filling out the Form 1. I used a trust for mine and highly recommend going that route for getting into NFA. But yeah just fill out the Form 1, two original copies, and a copy of your trust, and a check for $200 to the BATF. Wait like 5 months for it to come back approved in your mailbox. Then go get your lower engraved with your trust name and city and state. Then go build up your lower and have fun

Everything will drop on, and should function as-is. There is a slight possibility you will need to try some different buffers, but that's usually only a problem with full auto and short barrels.
If the lower is registered for one SBR, is there an issue putting a differrent SBR upper on it?
Not to hi-jack, but along the same lines.

No issues. You applied for and made sbr. You are able to use different uppers (calibers, BL and OAL's). BATFE onl asks for the original configuration that u are "making".
