Thanks, I found it thru linking from the tacked thread. I wasnt sure on the publication but thats it.
Send it off EARLY. I have sent off three forms and it has been almost a month and no returned (approved) forms yet.
It's almost like waiting on a Form/4.
Sigh
I'm on week 8. WTF
Uhm, what happens if they dont get it back in time of my vacation? last time I did this, it only took them a week or so. and that was 2 years ago.

Uhhh,, I had my 2012 papers in hand approved back in Sept 2011... Had my 2011 papers done in hand Sept 2010,, not went anywhere during 2011, but I had papers approved so I could go on a moment' notice for 5 different states.
Can I ask why you not have papers done and approved for the year ?

So in box 3, you just say Jan 1, 2012 to Dec 31, 2012 for example?
I always figured they would balk at that since in reality is going to be at home for 99% of the year, but away for 1%. To me, answering question 3 that way would imply it is going to be away for the entire time and never at home. Plus, say I were to fill two 5320.20's out, one for State A and one for State B. Wouldn't that imply it is going to be in two states at once, for the whole year?
Additionally, what if you have two ranges in State A that you want to go to. Just put one address down?
I know I'm over thinking this because countless people have done it this way, but does this seem illogical to anyone else that the ATF approves forms filled out like this? Has anyone had an mall-ninja LEO question a 5320.20 filled out this way?

Yes

Look at the paper.. are the firearms returning to original location... YES.. who to know they even left.. Mine not been anywhere for the 2011 yr, but I am papered to go when ever I want during the year.. I am papered for 2012.. I have not been anywhere yet. You just simply state "Travel back and forth to (enter state of choice here) during 2012 year..
Plus, say I were to fill two 5320.20's out, one for State A and one for State B. Wouldn't that imply it is going to be in two states at once, for the whole year?
No,, you going overboard.. have one for each state you think you might want to visit during year, then go there if the need comes up.. here is the 2011 pile at top, 2010 at bottom
Additionally, what if you have two ranges in State A that you want to go to. Just put one address down?
Yep, paper is simply to get you into state.. I shoot at in-laws, local range, cousins, where ever we decide to go... nobody ever bother in all my years
Has anyone had an mall-ninja LEO question a 5320.20 filled out this way?
Nope
