Ok. So I got shot in November and the guy's insurance is settling the claim. I'll have several thousand to spend on toys and was wanting opinions on what you think I should get? Don't want to spend the money on full auto transferrable but live sbs, sbr, cans etc

I recently bought an LWRC REPR sbr in FDE, & it's awesome. Now, it'll only be 6 months til I can bring it home:(

Anything LWRC is great.

Several is anywhere from 5-10k. I have access to an uzi already that I could sbr. How much are the LWRC's? That is AWESOME looking!

The REPR sbr runs somewhere around $3200. I've seen a little more, but I got mine for a little less. I have one already that's 18 that I shoot suppressed only, & the piston setup is much much cleaner than a gas gun. Never had any stoppages. The cerakote is real tough & it has an adjustable gas valve with 4 settings. It takes Pmags too. An all around nice gun. LWRC also makes a PSD sbr that comes in several calumets. My dealer is the largest LWRC dealer in the nation, & they had LWRC reps come down & demo the guns & we got to shoot them on full auto. The PSD went through cases of ammo with zero stoppages all on FA. The rep would dunk it in a 5 gal bucket of ice water whenever it would start smoking & it kept on running. The 2nd day, the firing pin finally broke. I was very impressed with all of their rifles. I bought an M6AK 5.45 upper last week that I plan on running on my M16 when I get approved. I got it below cost so it's gonna have a very high round count. If you're interested in am LWRC gun, IM me & I'll get you in touch with my dealer who will give you a deal for sure.

why?
full auto usually trumps anything else you could buy.
most anyone will tell you that once you get a FA, you quit playing with the other stuff.
I know I did. my SBR's and other non-NFA toys gather dust now (except for my 10/22 and precision rig).

you could buy a FA uzi for somewhere in the 7-8k range or an ac556 for around 6k
or do like I did
get a m11 and "lage it out" for about 4k. add a 22lr kit for about 500, mags etc and you've essentially got 2 MG's for $5000. another grand and you can add a lage or aa upper that runs 71 round suomi drums and basically have a 3rd (feeling) SMG.
the "mac" is the modular ar15 of the subgun world. its relatively "cheap", easy to tinker on and get running perfectly (if it doesnt out of the box), has a reliable subcaliber kit for it, and tons of product support. that's hard to beat.
I'll take my little SMG over any whizbang semi auto carbine any day of the week. twice on range day

swd m11 with lage max11 upper

same lower but with lage max31 upper

full auto goodness

For 10k you could get an M11 and an AC556.

Maybe even find an M16 (non-Colt)

Other cool choices: Uzi, FNC

Like Buff said, I doubt you will ever regret going the MG route. If you decide it's not of interest to you, sell it for what you bought it for or more in a couple months.

I too went the M11/9 route and after getting my stamp back I ordered up the Lage Max 11 upper. Honestly it is the best bang for the buck out of any firearm I have ever purchased. With a stock type upper, it's a bullet hose. With the Lage it is a fantastic, controllable, modular submachine gun. Add a Mac Jack to speed up either setup a bit. Like he said, along with M16's they are the "AR15" of the machine gun world as far as aftermarket options, modularity, and inexpensive replacement parts. Plus, it's a MG, so you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want with it. Put whatever stock you want, whatever barrel length, vertical forward grips, etc.

As cbass said, for about 10K you can probably find a non-Colt M16 or lightning link. The FNC and AC556 are cool also, and obviously the Uzi is effing classic and cool as hell but they run about $6-7K.

So you're saying for 10k, I could get BOTH an m11 and an AC556?

I realllly like the idea of a m11 with the lage... where do I go about finding one?

Great, come to Hernado tomorrow. This is the BIG one. $20 to shoot, bring some ammo and you can run my Mac 10/9 and Sten MkII.

I say you should fire a few types of MGs to get the feel for each.

And learn what you love.
