I called monday and they said it was approved January 26th. That was almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received anything in the mail. It's with Christina Farris btw.

[red][EDIT:2/13/12: WTF it's been 19 days approved and I still haven't seen sh*t in the mail/red]

Edit: Update at the bottom.

It's a form 1 for an SBR I'm building so it should come straight to my house.

Some put approved paperwork in the mail the same day while others have been known to sit on approved forms for a month or two before getting them in the mail (this is assuming the examiner doesn't lose the paperwork after approving *cough* Butch Shipman).

Give it at least a month before calling NFA branch to find out what's up.

Last Form 1 I did took about 5 months for me to get in it in the mail. I never check on my forms, i just mail them out and try to forget about them until they show up 2-5 months later.

He's asking about the time between showing an approved status, and receiving the stamp in the mail. In my latest experiences it has been 1-2 weeks....

Got mine in the mail today- was approved Feb 3 by Bowers. So 6 days- not so bad, now the 6mos before that for the approval got a little tedious..............

I called today and the lady said expect 2-4 weeks before I get it in the mail. That would push the door to door over 6 months.

This is disheartening to hear.

Don't listen to that. That's boilerplate.

It is about 2 weeks max depending on your examiner. Some come back in as little as 2-3 days.

I have an approved stamp that is awaiting delivery as well.

I know it's BS but if I call and complain that's all they are gonna tell me ,"forms usually take 2-4wks to deliver". So if that's their protocol I can't say shit until 32 days.

I am three months out and I just don't think about it.
Someday I will get home from work and I will have a piece
Of mail on the counter addressed to me in my hand writing
Then I will know the time has come.

I never gotten a form 1 back but how is it addressed to you in your own handwriting? Was I supposed to add a return envelope or something? Maybe that's what's taking so long

NFA branch uses an envelope with a window on the front. The forms are folded so that your name/trust name is in the window. So, if you hand wrote your forms, it'll come back with your handwriting.

I called on one of my form 1s and it was pending. I gave up and a couple of weeks later, it showed up in the mail.

Approved - 1/18
Received - 1/23

LOL ok, i thought I was missing something. I printed mine out. I'm very anal when it comes to mailing stuff and usually quadruple check the form/address before sending anything so I'm pretty sure its right. If I call again, who do I ask for to verify address or if it was sent already? My examiner?

No one. Most likely the examiner won't talk to you and the customer service folks have no idea.

You just have to wait the 30-45 days for ATF to declare it was lost. Then they'll mail you a certified copy of their unstamped form. After 30 days, you might try calling and talking to Ted Clutter.

I called today and verified my address which is correct. So this certified copy won't come with a stamp??? Then I fill it out and send it back in? I spoke with Ted before about a different issue, he was very helpful.

If it comes down to needing a certified copy, that's all you get.

The stamp is a one-time thing - $200 = one stamp. It's a canceled stamp that's affixed to your form.

The ATF will simply send you a certified copy that says "yep, this is approved" but there's no stamp affixed. You don't send anything back at that point. You have your certified copy and that's that.

You would think they would just stick another stamp on it. Maybe their afraid of people peeling then off and attaching them on another form if your "claiming" your form got lost? I'm learning a lot from while my forms are pending

Has the cost of a stamp gone up?

I called and they said mail them a request to have a copy mailed to me. What a load of shit.

I faxed my request for a certified copy on Friday and the lady on the phone said expect to wait 30 days to get it in the mail. This is really a load of shit. They lose it and I have to wait 30 days to request another one and then I have to wait another 30 to receive it. Hopefully this is just a generic wait time and not actual.

Hatetotellya, but...

the same thing happened to me last year, and it was right at 30 days after we sent the letter. Ran north of 60 days days from approval to actually getting stamp in hand...and could have been worse had we not called to check to see if it had been approved. Hopefully your outcome will be better, but it is some shit for sure.

I sent my F1 out in November never really expected
To get any thing back before June.
It sounds like I won't be disappointed.
