I've got a Mega lower marked "Multi" that I want to SBR. Can I put "multi" on the form one since that's what it says on the lower, or do I need to specify a caliber?
Specify whatever caliber the upper that you are going to first put on the lower is.
ETA: This question is asked all the time in here, you can only "make" the gun once. Once it's made, you can convert it to your heart's content, but it's already made. And seeing as the Form 1 is for the "making" of a Title II firearm, you put the caliber that you "made" it in, not the calibers that you may or may not convert it to later.

NO, "Multi" is not a caliber as asked on the form

Specify a caliber to answer the question as asked on the form.. 5.56mm or 223 Rem is std for AR-15
After paper approved, install any caliber or length of upper you desire, as serial number is now allowed to sport an upper shorter than 16"
