Well I got a call today from the nfa saying I'm in problem status. Okay that's fine. My main question is that its over my finger print cards for some reason. I haven't recieved the packet yet.

First form I ever sent went into problem status for the forms not being front and back and when I fixed it it was approved immediately

The fact that this is over.my fingerprint cards how long of a delay am I going to get. I heard it was the finger print cards that took awhile to process

Rant. The one elment out of my control screws me. The sheriff demanded that they had to fill out and spoon feed my finger prints onto the fingerprint cards

Pending since Aug 18th. Just got the call today about the problem status. Dana pickles is the examiner.

Like I said I don't know anything other than I was told there were a problem with the finger print cards. Still waiting on the packet to come back with the problem status sheet.

A deputy "helped" me roll my fingers. I even remember one being smudged and I asked him if that was okay and he said it would be fine.

They then asked for my info and put it onto the top of the finger print cards

Most finger print cards are filled out before getting the prints done. Also they are normally signed litteraly right before the they are taken to keep from smearing prints.

Has anyone ever had this happen. Am I going to get put back months because of this problem since its in regard to the fingerprints?

If it's in problem status because of illegible fingerprint cards, your application will sit on the examiner desk until you resubmit legible fingerprint cards. They will run the new cards and you should be approved in a week or two from them receiving the replacements.

So no, ya won't get put back months.

However, if your fingerprints came back as someone convicted of a felony, they will just flat-out reject your application, and they will tell you not to bother to resubmit.

Thanks Tony for easing my mind. I was really nervous since it was the prints that I'd still be months out

i really hate getting prints done. i dont understand why they feel the need to roll your finger for you. i mean it isnt like you are an arrested drunk putting up a fight. why cant they just let you do it while they watch. they would come out much clearer. i recently had prints done for a FL cwp and the prints were aweful! the fingers overlapped and the whole thing looked like a shop rag after changing oil. i just threw out the cards and had another cop do them.

i work at a place where fbi background checks and finger prints are retaken ever couple of years. they finally have upgraded to the electronic 4 finger slap type. you just lay your finger on the machine and that is it, no rolling.

I called today and they just now forwarded them to the FBI. Said not to expect to hear anything for another 30-60 days

I apparently have two pending dates now too. Aug 18th and now today

ATF is really starting to cramp my style

Sorry to give ya that false hope.

Last time I'd checked, prints were going faster through the FBI because so many applicants were using trusts. I guess the FBI is now as understaffed as ATF itself, when it comes to checking the prints.

Sigh.

Tony I'm holding onto hope that she was just overshooting the wait.

It is what it is though :/

I thought I read on here that the prints were done in house though?

Two stamps ago, the cop who did my prints had me do them myself. I wish it was like that all the time.

NFA Branch now has a fingerprint scanner –– but the scans are still sent to the Fibbies for identification.

Okay I understand.

It is what it is. I just picked up a new 1911 and have a 2 day advanced handgun course next week. Hopefully that will eat away at the wait

Man still waiting

My buddy I shoot with sometimes just got his cans this weekend and he went pending in September

He did let me use his m4-2000 on my rifle. That's not helping me with this wait

Well I have somehow managed to hit another problem status somehow. The secretary said it didnt make any sense on why I was in one again and tried to tranfer me to Dana Pickles but he didnt answer.

Ive left a voicemail this morning and have sent him an email regarding the issue.

I really do not understand how there could be another problem
