Engraving question for SBR.
I'm sure it has been asked many times before but here goes: What abbreviations are legal for an individual(not a trust) having engraving done? I have read 7.4.2 (1-4) in the NFA Handbook that states (3)The manufacturer's name(or recognized abbreviations). But as far as I know, individual names do not have recognized abbreviations. Everywhere I have searched thus far has not given a definitive answer for the individual applicant, only trusts.
I would like to have my lower engraved as FI. MI. Last name. My town, OK
I have a very unique last name, as I can trace everyone with the same name to relatives no more than 3 generations back, so it is very unlikely to be confused with anyone else. Not that this should matter at all.
I would like to thank everyone here for the help and suggestions that are put forth in this forum as this will be my first of hopefully many NFA items. And apologize for asking the same question again. After reading as much as I have, it made the process much simpler and less intimidating.
Full name of the entity named in the paperwork. Section 3b?
At any rate the engraving for an individual would be
Firstname Lastname
Hometown, HS (abbr for Homestate)
If you used your middle name in there then you need to have it on your engraving.
Ask the people who've discovered that they need to have Firstname Lastname's Family Revocable Trust engraved instead of just Lastname Trust because that's the name in 3b.
