Just picked up a Colt Navy 36 cal. I have & shoot 4 differant 44`s, so I know BP. My question is, there is no paper work with the 36. What size ball & what size charge do I use? By the way I use the real stuff Gorex 3F. Thanks in advance.

Use either a .375 or .380 ball. My Uberti Colt 1851 Navy gives much better accuracy with .380 balls since they have a longer bearing surface for the rifling to engage.

12 to 15 grains of 3Fg is a good target load. 20 - 25 is about the max that will fit in a Colt Navy, IIRC. (As an aside, the Pietta repro Remington Navies will hold more powder.)

I use .375" balls in my two .36s. Don't remember the charge of blackpowder as I haven't shot that powder in a long time (shoot Pryodex).
