 Best copy of the Colt 1849?

Go with a Uberti-made copy.

Expect soft internal parts that will wear & break and some will need hitting a lick or two with a polishing stone.
If you plan on shooting a lot, get an extra handspring assembly, trigger & bolt springs. You may have to "tweak the timning a bit" (reshaping the bolt to fit better in the notches.

Most folks won't shoot one enough to really notice, but a properly fitted gun shoots better & lasts longer!
