I decided to sell my TC Hawken

It is a sad day, a little bit, at least.
I have not shot my ML for over a year and I have developed an interest in C & R guns and with the money I could get out of my Hawken, I could buy 2 Mosin Nagants

my Hawken is on Gun Broker now with 16 watchers and 175 page hits so I think it looks promising.

To ease my suffering I do want to end up with a Uberti BP revolver of some sort in the future, maybe a Dragoon

Funny, I sold my Nagant and want to buy a ML now, but I want a .58 cal smokepole. The rub is I originally bought the Nagant for a cheap deer rifle, but most of the nearby public lands to hunt around turn out to be ML or Archery only.

M44s, M39s and 91/30s are fun rifles. At least you'll have the hang of cleaning up after corrosive ammo if you want to shoot the cheap surplus stuff.

I have not shot any of the corrosive surplus yet, but it is out there and it is priced right

so for I have shot the Wolf new production steel case only

I had fun with my ML and it shot well
I have a 45 cal Maxi Ball mold for it and plenty of pure lead so I made my own ammo

I never liked shooting the patched round ball as much as the conical rounds

I think that caliber may have been more your problem than anything else. .45 is a bit too big for squirrels, a bit too small for deer. They make good target guns in .45, but unless you get one that is a real shooter and your eyes are better than mine, punching paper by yourself on the range is only fun for so long.

Finding other folks who shoot and compete with frontstuffers also makes the game a lot more fun. I'd love to do a woodswalk sometime, just have one helluva time finding one.

I have a .54, awesome for deer and I'm told capable of taking elk. I would like to get a .36 for tree rats. I think that would be about as much fun as you could have with your pants on. A smoothbore for turk and upland game is on my list as well.

Damned if I wouldn't love to come, but I simply don't have period dress and can't afford it. Desoto is a ways to drive for me just to watch.

dang, my Hawken Rifle sold fast and for what I was asking
in just under 2 days I had over 200 page hits and 19 watchers

someone finally hit "buy it now"

like I figured, it is going to a state that has a "muzzle loader only" season

If I may ask, what was the final price for it? I have a TC thatI bought 35 years ago that just sit's on display that I may wish to sell, it is .45 caliber. What should I ask for it? Thanks Manny

I think the T/C in .45 cal is highly desirable. In our area it always demands top dollar.

Please delete. I got an error and I hit the post button a second time. Sorry.

If you go for a Dragoon get the 3rd model. Its the best design of the three.

Uberti makes a very nice one. You'll love it.

If you're talking about the LBJ National Grasslands they are restricted to archery, muzzleloader and shotgun only.
I have a flintlock that I haven't shot yet. I really need to take it up there and see what it will do.
