Hello I am looking to buy some lead minnie balls for my 1861 58 ca. Springfield Musket

Would like to know what size can I use. Some one told me .575 and .577.
if both are correct which size is better then the two.

Just like the .44 caliber revolvers can be 0.451", 0.454", or 0.457", buy one box and see.

I got 575 for mine. The mini ball expands at the skirt when fired and forms to the size of the bore. You are better off with slightly small so you can shoot longer without cleaning.

It really depends on your bore size. I have seen some that take a .580, so unless you can mike the barrel, it will be trial and error to find the best size for the musket.
