Dusted off the ZFK and warmed the barrel up. These are such a pleasure to shoot. For all you K31 shooters the ZFK is about 6 heavier and there is noticeably less felt recoil than the K31. The 3.5X scope is a bit limiting. I want to try this out at 800yds plus next time I get to the looong range.

The Swiss over build everything.

I put this K together a few years ago and was happy with how it shot, but it's nothing like the ZFK. The brake tamed some of the recoil and the butt pad help a lot. It still kicks more than the ZFK.

I've had my eye on this K31/43 for awhile, working out a trade with the current owner.

Whats the deal with the scope on the second one?
Looks like a cross between a prismatic scope from WWI and a ZF41

It's a Kern Aara 3.5X22 scope mounted to the left of the receiver, with the mounts being an integral part of the receiver. It is unusual because it has windage clicks but the elevation is smooth, no clicks and it's designed that way.

The entire action of the ZfK55 is tilted at an angle to allow for ejecting cartridges to clear the scope.

The barrel fitted to the ZfK55 is heavier than the one one the K31 and is fitted with a large muzzle-brake/flash suppressor that is very effective. It does give the rifle a different sound than a K31.

When I see one for sale it's in the $4500-5500 area, depending on condition and if it has all the kit. You should measure the barrel for wear, some of these saw extensive shooting. Per specification a new muzzle would measure 7.51mm and shot out at 7.64mm, mine is 7.5311mm at the muzzle. I was lucky to find this one in a divorce sale so I save a few bucks.

The K31/43 is almost as much as the ZFK's these days. Simpsons is asking $4000 plus when they have them. I would consider half that a good buy.
