 Unstamped Finn-Capture SVT40?

I recently acquired this non-refurbished SVT and I'd like to get some thoughts on it. The stock, receiver, and all the parts that are not removed during field stripping match. The magazine that came with it is from an SVT 38 and fits in the magazine well quite poorly. The stock is very dirty and scarred (though sound). On a side note, the bore is in very good shape. There is no SA stamp or "2" setting on the gas regulator, which leads me to believe this is either a non-stamped Finnish capture or a German capture that was brought back by a US soldier.

Anyway, just looking for some thoughts on provenance. I've heard of non-stamped Finn guns but never seen one.

I can post more pics if anyone wants.

It is difficult to tell without seeing it in person IOT compare it to what's seen on other rifle to check for any Finnish modifications. That is obviously a late style M39 sling that is on it. A 1950's Finnish import is the most probable origin due to sheer numbers and usual characteristics, but it really could have come from anywhere. A US WW2 bring back is incredibly unlikely. A Vietnam bring back is probably the second most likely source.

Finnish weapons missing an [SA] stamp are not terribly uncommon, but without evidence such as an [SA] stamp we cannot say anything for sure about your rifle.

Where ever it came from, it is a very nice rifle without a doubt!

The M39 sling I just put on there because it was taking up room in my sling box. It had no sling when I got it. Vietnam or Grenada is possible, but I really cannot completely discount the US capture idea either (though it is one of the least likely options). I have dozens of photos of Germans using SVT's on the Western and Eastern fronts, and a few photos of in-theatre US captures (one I found online is below). I'm probably going to chalk this one up as a Finnish import, but it's interesting to think of the other possibilities.
