 What do sporterized type 99s go for?

Disclaimer: I did not do this unthinkable act to this weapon It has been lying around here for decades I suspect it was done by an uncle., I have shot it in the past and also have about 58 rounds of old Norma ammo for it as well

$75-$100, tops. It's only value is in it's ability to fire a bullet (from a very uncommon cartridge, no less).

There's a good chance your ammo is worth more than the gun.

Good on your uncle - @ least he shot it. Want another one? Think I've got some Norma ammo for it as well.

Great action - Mauser design w/ good Japanese steel. One of the strongest actions made, ruined by wartime propaganda.

I had the same problem only mine was cut in front of the first band. I replaced everything forward of that plus the stock. It took a year of shopping gunbroker and ebay but last week I got to shoot it for the first time. It was all worth it. BTW I'm into it about 250 dollars now as the rifle was a hundred bucks.
