Ive come across an Arisaka, type 99 I believe, that I can't fully identify. There is no mum, it wasn't removed-it was never there. The matching numbers throughout are 35. Yes, 35. It's also had no import markings.

Any ideas?

Is the barrel rifled? Could be one of the blank-only school rifles.

Photos of the whole rifle, rear sight with receiver ring, and left side of receiver would help.

Not all Japanese rifles are supposed to have a Mum. Only those actually used by Imperial Japanese Forces. Schools, foreign troops, and 'friendly foreign governments' (puppet states) would be in this category. Most of those would have received obsolete or inferior weapons, though. If it really is a Type 99, it's probably a school gun.

I checkee and you're right, no rifling! What kind of value would you think it would have?

Couple hundred bucks at most I would immagine, unless it is some rare and obscure variant.

Yeah, I'd say $200 is about tops for a school rifle.
