anyone had any luck with heavy ball bulgarian in their 91/30 mosin nagants?

I think this was the ammo deigned for the maxim and I know I can shoot it but I have not yet I keep hearing that it shoots like crap in the rifles don't waste it. I have two tins of it. it is getting shot. who here has shot it the ol bulgy yellow tip heavy ball 7.62 54 I think it is like a 182 grain projectile. I know it is corrosive and all that fin stuff this does not bother me I have shot alot of other surplus through the weapon and am running low of this ammo and am wanting to use this now. any first hand experience of accuracy and at what range you shot at would be great thanks guys.

I haven't found any bulgy 54R that will shoot for shit, heavy ball, light ball it don't matter, out of 2 91/30's, and 2 M44's, best i could ever get was pie plate at 50yds.

Sure have and it works the sane in all my rifles so the other guy must have a bent barrel,,LOL.

I have a couple mosins that it is the best ammo I have ever shot in them 1-3" in groups at 100', and then others that I get 12" groups at 100'. Thanks to Russian quality standards the only way your going to know how well your gun is going to work with the ammo is to either Slug your barrel and compare it to a bullet diameter or, shoot it and see how your mosin likes it.

I have no idea why that second picture is there, but I'm not complaining.

I have some Yugo heavy ball (yellow tip), some Russian silver tip, and some Polish light stuff as well. It all shoots about the same in all 3 of my Mosins, and no particular combo is anything to brag about, but it'll all get the job done.

Yeah, Bulgy ammo never did do shit for me, all my rifles like is Czech silver tip, and Russian surp silver tip.

Shoots ok out of mine. Certainly not as good as CZ Silvertip or Polish light ball.
