luger p.08 good price to pay?
What would be a good price to pay for a ww2 p.08 numbers matching import gun?
Well crappy Russian refurbs with non matching numbers seem to be going for $600 to $700 these days so......
Original numbers matching, or EP'd?
Also, where is the import mark, the maker of the gun, year of manufacture ect, all can determine the price.
If it is just a miss-matched russian capture though, I'd say anywhere from $450-700 depending on condition ect.
Pictures would help a great deal.
i havent laid eyes on the gun yet gona look this evening. what should i be looking for?
Ideally, all matching numbers from the factory, not EP's numbers, hopefully a minor import mark, if any.
Beyond that, some years are more desireable than others, as are some manufacturers. A BYF 42 would be worth less than say, a Kreighoff or an equally rare manufacturer.
Someone else who knows more should be by hopefully relatively soon, I believe P08 or possibly Thor340 are the guys to talk to about this stuff.
No more than $800 if most of the parts are original finish.
Didja get a chance to see the pistol?
saw it last night. id say about 40% blueing left, was a s/42 code made in 1939. had slight rust on the barrel and back strap. for 900 i decided to pass on it. rather spend a little extra and get a better shape luger or a nice american 1911 from ww2.
Avg mismatch are 700-800. I picked mine up mostly matching non refurb or import for 700.
