Is it permissable to photo copy my licence and then put my signature on it then send it to retailers? Sorry im sure its a noob question.

That's exactly how it's done. Also, you can make a copy, sign it, scan it and use that for those who will accept an emailed copy. Just DON'T sign the original!

Why not sign the original? I sign my original and make copies, scan a copy for e-mail. The new forms have a wallet size card you carry for the LGS.

The original should never be signed. Your signature on a copy is the correct way. It's like a check all the info is there but you sign each one, aside from the other differences. The signature's legitimacy comes from it being signed on the copy, not a facsimile.

And, the fact that it says, right on the license, "DO NOT SIGN THE ORIGINAL LICENSE".
