How much are these going for nowadays? It's a 1942 enfield No2 MkIV**
I've heard I can shoot 38 S&W through this is that true?

Depends on condition. If it is not bubba'd and the #'s match.....$200-300 for a deceant example No2 Mk1** orig finish or FTR'd.
You can shoot 38 S&W through it, A box of factory 38 S&W runs $22-25 a box for cheap ammo ( Magtech ) so factor that in if you are getting 3 boxes with the pistol....
I paid $325 for mine, but it's original finish, in beautiful shape, completely matching, and not import marked. You could probably do better, but it was in hand and I wanted it.
You can shoot .38S&W through them but U.S.-made .38S&W is lawyer-loaded for the crappy old top-breaks like Iver Johnsons. The Enfield is a lot stouter and British .38/200 was more powerful. The .38S&W may not shoot to PoA (it probably won't).
