I have not looked lately but they have popped up on gunbroker. Folks are very proud of them too.

Well some time ago some farmer or hunter decided to chop the stock down and turn it into some type of hunting rifle. Would it be worth any money in this configuration ? If I buy a new stock and replace it will it be worth more money or is it a waste of time ?

Can we have some pictures of what you got? I'm not trying to doubt your assessment that someone bubba'ed the rifle, but there were carbine variants etc. and ones that did not have full-length stocks.

Sorry I do not have a pic but it is clearly not a carbine and is also cut for a cleaning rod as well...

Every now and then they have some long rifle reproduction stocks on hand.
They may have some or all of the furniture as well.

Try the link I posted last night they have a stock for sale $175 it's the one in trapdoors for parts not the cadet it's item one on the list below the tables .
