Rugger 10/22 20 inch
I was thinking of doing an Appleseed shoot this year. Looking at Ruger 10/22's and I found a nontarget rifle with a 20 inch barrel. Does anybody have one? I would think it might be a smidge more accurate. Thanks for looking.
Don't own the 20" 1022, but can help with the basics. A 20" barrel is not inherently more accurate then a 16" barrel, but a 20" barrel will have a longer sight radius that may help you shoot it more accurately. This assumes you intend to use iron sights. With a scope there should be little to no difference.
Yep I own two of them, add a set of tech sights and your well set up for a appleseed shoot.
Thanks for the replies.
Which Tech rear sight are you using?
I put a 20" Green Mountain Sporter barrel on my 10/22 and really like it. It is free floated.
The rifle looks better now. I know there are a lot of shooters that like shorter barrels but I like the look of the longer one, even though its only 2. I also like the way it balances now.
I shot Rem 550 bulk pack to break the barrel in. I was getting between 2 & 3 @ 100yds during break in. Haven't had a chance to try other ammo yet.
