10/22 Hogue Youth 12" LOP For Adult?
For my build, I plan to use 16" bull barrel, 4-12x40mm scope (eye relief 3.5-3.25"), and hogue stock. I'm trying to go for compact rifle that's decent at both range plinking and varmint hunting.
I'm 5' 6", 180 lbs with stalkier build.
Anybody with a similar description have experience with the Hogue Youth 12" LOP Stock? Trying to determine whether or not it's going to be practical. Will I be too crunched/uncomfortable, will my eyes line up properly with the scope, is the distance from the scope good, etc.
Any advice that will help me pick the right stock would be great, thanks!
My finace is 5ft tall. Her 10/22 uses the factory 10/22 synthetic. That has a LOP of 13.5 inches and it is maybe just a hair too long for her but the rifle is so light she shoots it as it is with no problems (eye relief or otherwise).
Considering the Hogue's LOP is 13.75 you should just hold your 10/22 as is (as long as you have a factory stock) and then just decide whether you will be more comfortable going .25 inches longer or shrinking it 1.5 inches.
I'm building my first 10/22 from receiver up so no factory stock for reference.
I tested out an AR-15 with 12" LOP and it felt great, will the Hogue stock feel similar even thought it doesn't have a pistol grip?
