Bead sights -- what is your favorite?

I have a 590A1 with a standard black bead. I like a bead for a quick and dirty sight acquisition, but I'm interested in maybe upgrading to brass (or other).

Thoughts?

XS big dot. i have 2 on my 870s. Very fast, and you get tritium also. Easy to install yourself with jb weld

WOW, great minds think alike. 2 on two 879s, could not be happier. Shot one yesterday at a 3 Gun (no auto-loader yet) match and it was very very fast. Very fast. I also like having it on my HD shotgun. You will need to practice but that goes for anything gun related.

Not white. Not Tritium.

I like red fiber optics that I then black over with a Sharpie. Too bright of a bead takes my eye off the rock, I start bead checking birds, measuring leads, and shooting behind them.

Thanks for all the input, gentlemen.

I definitely think I have to spend some more time around the shotgunners/3-gunners at my club to see the various sights and compare the sight pictures firsthand.

I'm surprised and interested by the recommendations on the red fiber-optic末whether muted with a Sharpie or not末mostly because it was so unexpected.

I took a moment to look at the link with the Easy-Hit Sportsman's red fiber-optic Percula posted, and it seemed to have some interesting qualities (maybe not for a HD shotgun末but for shotguns in general) because it forced you to get a consistent and precise cheek weld, and failing to do that would result in your NOT being able to see the red dot.

It seemed like a good training aid, to build末and force you to build末repeatability/consistency with your sight picture, and also alert you when there were cross-eye dominance issues.

In the short term I think I'll screw on a simple brass bead while I explore the other options out there, just because it is so easy and cheap末but I'll definitely be looking at the other options.

Thanks again for the input.

I've thought about this myself, but since you have to cement this over the bead if I remember, how do you ever get it off, if, for instance, the tritium fades out?

I use a red fiber optic bead on my 3-gun shotguns and don't have any problems hitting aerial targets, targets on the ground, or slug targets. My pump gun is a Benelli Nova with the factory red fiber optic and standard mid-bead. My semi-auto is a 24" FNH SLP vent rib with a HiViz fiber optic similar to the one posted earlier.
