Finally found one in my price range! Think I got a decent deal.

Aside from most of the finish wearing off, it's tip top. Can't find any pitting or rust, just a nice, brown patina starting. With the exception of about a 3/4 inch crack behind the trigger guard, the stock is looking good too. The pump grip is a bit chipped and banged up, but no real cracks. Bore is shinny, threads are in good shape and the action works well. She is still a little stiff at the breakdown, somewhat better after a little oil. Not a screaming deal, but $300 was a good price for her.

Thanks, it was one of the shop owner's and he had it for sale for $450 a little while back, kept it at home as his go-to self defense gun. I was going to offer a trade for either a Yugo or Chicom SKS. When I got there it was in the for sale rack, knocked down to $300. I almost feel bad about chopping it down, it's just in too good of shape, but I'll get over it. I need to turn it into this (another member's shotgun):

The riot ones tend to go for a little more. I wouldn't desecrate one of those though. I just wanted an old, dinged up dove gun that I could molest. Also, the riot guns aren't break-downs, they are solid. I need the break-down.

Just got some new furniture off of Ebay, I'm going to save the original stock and forearm. I suppose I wouldn't mind getting another barrel, then nothing I modify would be original, but it's starting to add up in price...

ETA: Oops, I was thinking of the trench models.
