What is happening to my post?

I have two threads that have disappeared. I assume it is moving to a back page after a time period. But how do I access it? There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.

Dobe,

In case you were still looking for an answer to this: Obviously, I'm new here, but I'm finding this forum's software to be really limited. Not only does it seem to delete or auto archive topics older than 30 days, but searches are limited to "subject" only, and don't provide any decent filtering. It seems searching through Google might yield better results (search for "<search-term> site:www.ar15.com").

Also, the verbiage around "public searches are limited to ..." on the search page leads me to think you might get better features if you become a paying/contributing member to the site. I'm not sure if this is the case or not, but thankfully there are a lot of other gun forums out there which seem to be more "user friendly".

Heck, I'd be happy to get a "go to first unread reply" button...

Paying members get access to the "archive" which allows full text searches on any field, as far back as you care to search.

As for lost topics, click "My Topics" up above and see if you can find it in the list. It's very rare anything gets deleted outright, usually posts are simply locked so nobody can post.

Thanks fellows,
It seems that a post gets swepted away after 15 days of non use. If I had known that, I would have posted my range time elsewhere. I really wanted to keep this and track it for those interested in the AR-24.

And a fine set of reports they were, 'Dobe'. Please keep up the good work. Thank you for going to the trouble.

I can't justify acquiring an AR-24 (yet) - between SIG, Beretta, Glock and Kahr, I've got too many quality 9mm's as it is ("Too many" as in it's a pain to take so many different guns to the range, fire them, and then have to clean them; not "too many" as in "too many" - you can't ever have "too many"). Your reports have been a great way for me to vicariously evaluate the Armalite/Turkey connection. I am very interested in the .45 ACP version they have under development.

Easy. Don't bring them all to the range every time! :)

Dobe, you might consider keeping your log on TFL or THR. I too was hoping this site would pan out as far as a storehouse of AR-24 knowledge, but given the limitations of the forum software, as well as the "climate" in some of the other topics around here, there may be better places.

That's quiet the arsenal. I think you may be impressed with the AR-24. And I too am waiting for the .45 version.

Sam,
I think you are right. I will have to transfer this to THR. I like the information here, but I don't like the idea of people not being able to get to the information I leave for them. Perhaps next week.
