I noticed today when I took my stainless TRP apart that it is catching now......a lot. It used to just slide right off but now I have to use all my might just to get it off, and then get it back on. I didnt notice any burrs or anything else. It does'nt effect the function at all, just the takedown and reassembly. Guess my question is, is it going to get worse?
Do you keep it lubed? Stainless needs more than carbon steel. Galling isn't that common anymore. Manufacturers learned to
have the frame and slide stainless alloys be a little different to prevent galling.
I still have an old AMT hardballer. Haven't shot it in a long time. Frame and slide are the same alloy. Galled constantly.
FTF, FTE, stovepipe, etc. Couldn't find the right lube to keep it happy. Of course AMT is long gone.
AMT recommended GunSlick graphite grease on the slide rails.
GunSlick I use it on all of my stainless auto pistols and haven't had a problem.

I use it too on my Hardbaler and it is still tight
The reasoning of my question is that it has never done this before. This was the first time in hundreds of takedowns that it locked up.
