 1949 colt in gunstore today

Sorry I didnt have my phone, I will go back in a couple days and take a pic. It was a 1949 mfd, colt in .38 super. They were asking 1600.00 for it. I know nothing about these old 1911s. Good deal or no? sounds pretty high, and I dont know if all parts are original or not

High you think? Depending on which model .38 super it is,that might be low.Early Supers command some serious cash-some easily in excess of $4000 and up....and Supermatch .38 supers push $10,000 !
Id say a revisit for pics and serial number is in order....might be a jewel......

A 1947 or 1948 Colt in .45 in really good condition was posted on 1911forum about 6-9 months ago for about $2500 +/- ( I can't remember exaclty)
So yeah, .38 supers go for a lot more

ETA: $2500 is what the member paid for it

I cant afford it at that price anyway.
