MC Operator back from the custom shop. Range report on page 2
S&A magwell
30 lpi checkering on front strap and msh
carry bevel
tool steel trigger job at 4.5
Bullet Proof extractor,fps,slide stop
crown barrel
polish feed ramp
single side safety
I didn't like the 20 lpi checkering, ils mainspring, bull barrel or adjustable sights of the TRP so I just had this built up at the SACS. Paid a bit more but got it my way.

you had them build it this way for you? or you had them improve your gun?
first one, you must have a good job; second, you must have a hell of a job!
cost if you don't mind my nosiness; and which case was it?
beautiful piece btw!
Sent in a factory MC Operator which they just added onto. 900$ in work, parts and tax. That included refinish in flat black. And thanks, I like it!

Great looking pistol!
Awesome

Is that all we get? One crappy cellphone pic? Cmon man, we need atleast a couple of closeups of the work. Plus turnaround time and all that.

Just the motivation I needed to spend more money. Thanks. I think.

Thats a beaut!

I work midnights and the FedEx guy dropped it off right before I had to take off. I'm going to work on some better pics this weekend with a real camera.
Turn around was only 11 weeks.

DROOL! Nice pistola!

Love the Custom Shop! The work I had done (not as much as yours) was exactly what I wanted and they did an outstanding job. Yours looks like they did the same, but please post some better pics, and a range report when you get a chance to shoot it?

Very nice, I am dropping my Range Officer off tomorrow to get some work done to it. I can't wait to get it back!
Very slick. I can't find an MC anywhere.
JPD158, did you fire your pistol before you sent it off? i'm anxiously awaiting a range report. also, wondering if your improvements are more for longevity/dependability or accuracy?
it's most definitely a show stopper! i can't stop coming back and having eyesex with it!

I shot 100 problem free rounds through it before I sent it in and found it to be very accurate. My range trip is a good two weeks out but will post pics of results. Because it was plenty accurate most of my upgrades were either cosmetic or for longevity/dependability. (my mil-spec that I also had worked up by them had a NM barrel and bushing added. The MC Operator comes with a match barrel and bushing already. While an upgrade from their loaded model, it is not true "match grade". I wanted checkering and a mag-well on the gun and did not care for the two-tone finish. The tool steel hammer, sear and disconnector lent to an exceptional trigger pull that is a marked improvement over the factory. Bullet Proof parts were just added for piece of mind. I'm going to try for some better pics tomorrow.
excellent answer! so when i send in my RO and ask for the JPD158 special they'll know what i want? j/k.

Bluing over sand blasting? Parkerizing? A flat black epoxy-based paint?

Armory Kote flat black. I had good luck with it on my Mil-Spec. I'm working on some pics now.

Cool.
Looks good!
And the pair.

Excellent set of pistols. Exactly like I like them - all business. Can you post what grips you have on each one?

Thanks, that's what I was going for. They are both VZ dark cherry. Double diamonds on the Mil-Spec and Operators on the Operator.

Those grips look fantastic ... are they all G10 material?
Looks good bud. Now we need the backstory on the MilSpec. What all did you have done, how much, how long.
I might have one of those coming to me that needs that work done to it.

I got more into that gun than the Operator.
All the work was done by the SACS, let me see if I can remember it all.
Wilson Combat trigger, hammer, sear, disconnector, extractor, fps, slide stop, and msh.
SA beavertail and extended safety. They cut in night sights, carry bevel and front checkering at 30lpi. Polished the feed ramp and deburred the internals. Trigger set at 4.5lbs. They tightened the frame to slide fit and installed a NM barrel and bushing. VZ double diamond black cherry and Wilson grip screws.
It took them 12 weeks I love that gun.
IF it ever goes back for a refinish someday, I'll probably have it colt undercut and maybe a Wilson safety. That would be it.
como que colt undercut?
gracis ia
how about some clear pics?
You have excellent taste. That's how a modern 1911 should look.
what is colt undercut?

The relieve a small part of the front strap right where it meets the trigger guard. It allows you to grip the gun a little higher and feels really comfortable.
my only experience w/SACS was when they squared off that part but it didn't go up at all. they fixed my major idiot scratch on the slide for free

. they also installed an ILS for flipping free as well

. i'm going to search through boxes and find the arched MSH and see if the trigger is better and whether i like the arched MSH better.
8 shot group, 2 handed at the 10 yard line. I'm happy
250 flawless rounds over the weekend.
