good IWB holster for standard Makarov
I am looking for a good IWB holster for a standard Makarov...
East German / Russian / Bulgarian makarov
I have 3 Red Storm holsters (no longer in business), but they arent cutting it. Comp-Tac doesnt make any Mak holsters and refuse to..
so....whats my options?
G-code makes a paddle holster that can be converted to an IWB.
Check out Falco holsters sometime

Milt Sparks made me a SS2 for mine...wearing it as we speak.....
Try Uncle Mike's IWB holster.
I'm with femgungirl for the Falco.
I got mine from Mararov.com when they were selling and it has been a good holster.

is there any without button snaps?
I like passive retention, I guess I am spoiled by my Comp-Tacs

Dunno.
You can check with the Falco people and might get lucky.

After Makarov closed shop, so to speak (he sells odds and ends on gunbroker now - great customer service still) I already had mine, so I stopped following Falco. Then last year, while shopping on another website that happened to sell Falco holsters too, I saw a msg posted that said they won't be carrying the Falco line anymore because Falco is no longer selling to retailers. Then about a month ago, I see Falco selling on Ebay directly but they're only listing like 4 of their holster models and the prices have gone up a little. (still reasonable, just not best value par none old Makarov.com cheap)
To be fair most of the former communist bloc ammo, guns, magazines and equipment has gone up in price lately (CZ pistols, MFS ammo, S&B ammo, 7.62x39 ammo and even Chinese SKSs) I think the only thing still dirt cheap are Mosins.
Just type falco makarov on Ebay and there's a IWB there without a snap. $24.99
It hadn't occured to me till now but except for this new Falco IWB, I think all of the Eastern European and Russian holsters have had snaps.
It's a pain to remove it but the metal clip can come off
Try side guard holsters http://www.sideguardholsters.com/ I have one for a Bersa .380 that works also works for my cz 82
you can get an IWB adapter for this holster as well. G-Code
is the Don Hume one secure enough, and does it "Wobble" from side to side alot being it has just one, fairly skinny, clip?
I wouldn't know. I was hoping to try it myself. There are tons IWB holster with one clip that do it very nicely and securely. But Don Hume gets good reviews.
But I was more worried about the exposed trigger. I hope to try out the custom guy's holster first.
for the money you just cant beat the el cheapo blackhawk nylon/neoprene iwb holsters...they about 12 bucks, come in L or R hand and have a bunch of different sizes.
Very good holster maker here.
Fist INC. all the way. I carry mine in a #1a Canted IWB model. Very comfortable and worth the $. I have several holsters made by this company.

How is the "butt forward" holster for the Makarov? Does it wobble excessively? Comfortable?
I like this idea of this holster. I emailed them to see if they could make one for me.

You've got to have a good belt on to keep it tight. Doesn't wobble....is VERY comfortable in the 4-5 o'clock where it performs best. The leather is MUCH thinner than you expect in a holster...this keeps it slim, and light. Retention without a good belt is not good. But I have wrestled with cousins and I was upside down for a good while without this thing falling out. On its own, the holster is form fitting but not "tight." but once the belt tension is added it performs well.
Works good in the two o'clock if you don't have to sit down. 3'o'clock is alright, but prints a little more with my body type because I have wide bone hips, but my back and waist cut in from the hips so 2 and 4-5 hide it well for me.
It disappears under a t-shirt.... which is what I read from someone else but it really is true. I'm 180 pounds and it disappears under an Army PT shirt in Large size if you get what I mean. Not exactly a loose fitting shirt.
Ok I dropped the hammer and got the same holster. I ordered it on Saturday and it was waiting in the mail box today. Email response was EXCELLENT!! Tom was awesome to work with. $40 shipped. The leather is thinner than youd expect for a semi rigid holster. Im liking the molded leather over say the Galco soft suede as its easier to reholster and doesnt flop or stick in your side as much.
It is different with the clip offset from the gun but I think it will work out well. Im experimenting with different positions because like LaRue 556, Im also about 180 lbs. So far its comfortable. Im going to start wearing it out to work and see how it goes. I work in the ghetto as a field marketer so carrying is a must but also comfortable in the hotter season in Florida. Ive been carrying the P64 in a Galco type holster and its been working well but having a real Mak is strangely comforting despite all the Mak haters out there.....

Goes to a google document of their brochure.
Nope, I get a page unavailable error both at work and at home, using Google Chrome, or diff versions of IE. Looking at it, it looks like a UBG, but no stamp at the bottom left like some of their others.
You logged into google?
If that doesn't work, shoot me your email and I'll send you the file.
