EG Makarov are C&R
Correct me if I'm wrong but East German Makarov's are C&R?!? Right???

I just got in an agruement with a guy who is selling one and I asked him the production year. I told him where to find the production year. He said that he doesn't believe that 196X is the production year on the gun 1) the gun is in too good of shape and 2) because importers didn't post thier proof on the guns until 1989 so he thinks its made after 1989. I emailed him the C&R list on the ATF website but he said just because SKS's is on the list that doesn't mean this firearm is on the list.

Is this just plain ignorance????

Just letting some steam off...do I have a right to be discouraged?? Well, I refuse to do any business with this guy if he doesn't want to do his own research to find the truth.

Yes, E German Maks are C&R eligible. It sounds like he is confused.

Tell the meatwhistle to D/L this http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5300-11.pdf then do a search for makarov. Don't get your hopes up. It sounds like the guy has the kind of stupid that can't be fixed.

I did that exact thing....sent him the ATF website under "Makarov Russian and East German"

He's a f*ucking idiot. I told him the production date and he said that it looks to new to be a 196X. because of the importer marks it was made after 1989. He said not all SKS are C&R even though they are on the list.

My response was....Well I'm not going to argue with you. I don't do business wiht idiots so effim.

So, your going to pass on this deal b/c he doesn't ship C&R?
Whats the problem of him shipping to FFL?

Yes...I passed on the deal. Its good to know a little about the guns your selling. After speaking to him on the phone, I can tell he was ignorant and I couldn't trust him. 1) I don't plan on buying from a retard. I'll take my business elsewhere 2) shipping to my FFL requires me to pay his fees. The whole reason for C&R is to bypass that since I'm a collector. 3) I have to register it with my state police, 4) my state laws require me to have a 7 day wait period which is also a reason to have a C&R.
