Just got back from my LGS to check what they had. I was going to look for a CZ-82 since I had one before, sold it and regretted it. Well no CZ-82s were in the case but there was a very nice Russian Mak. I ask to take a look at it. Everything felt very tight and the barrel was in excellent condition with nice sharp grooves. The finish was uniform and dark and the grips were in pretty good condition. It came with one extra magazine, holster and original box. I paid $220 after tax. In my state I need to wait 3 days before picking up any handgun so I don't have pictures yet. Everything looks excellent on the Mak and I think I did pretty good. With my description do you think it was a good deal? How are the Russian Maks with steel cased ammo like Silver Bear? I still have 50rds left over of Silver Bear HP ammo from my CZ-82 which ate them up 100%.
ETA: Where is the best place to get magazines for my Russian?
Good deal

. I have a russian that I have had for about 9 years and functions flawlessly on anything I put through it. I hope you have the same luck with yours. Mak's are tanks. I must say that the only thing I dont like about it is the adjustable sights. They snag when it is carried.
Here is a pic of mine to hold you over

Thanks. I definatly felt the tank like construction when I was handling it. I figured with its weight that the recoil would be pretty mild on top of the 9x18 round. My CZ-82 wasn't bad but I know any gun with a recoil spring around the barrel can feel more snappy than one designed like a 1911 or TT-33.
