Hey guys,
I've always wanted a Luger since I was a little kid. However, in recent years the ones I have seen are too expensive for me.
I'm looking for a decent looking shooter; does this exist or am I up a creek?
Oh and if y'all got any good info on the guns, please post it.

Thanks y'all.

Yeah, there's some decent shooters out there but these days they're gonna run $700-800 instead of the $450-500 I paid for mine.

I now have two Lugers, one a mil-surp East German release to the US in the 1980s & the other is a jen-u-wine WW2 bring-back from my great-uncle Herb. I've shot the mil-surp one but not my bring-back. In fact, I used my mil-surp for my qual portion for my CCW class.

Do NOT shoot "hot" ammo thru these! Shoot only normal FMJ in 115 or 124gr loads & you should have no issues. I also urge a replacement mag from mec-gar so as to have a proper mag spring tension. More jamming issues arise from bad mag springs than almost anything else, IMO.

Check Gun Broker, they had some for $700~ a while back. No clue if CDNN still offers them or not?

Sorry I wasn't more help!

Get you a time machine and go back to about any big gunshow in the mid to late 1990's. Could buy a shooter grade P08 Luger for $250-$500. I bought a DWM and a Mauser made Lugers for $325-$350 back then. Turned down a slick civilian 7.65mm DWM at $300.

The Lugers have done nothing but rise in price since!

Theres this shooter on gunbroker, item #03080730000140416778. It ends in less than a day, but it's under $515 now.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll keep looking for 'em. Working with my college students income, It'll probably be a few years until I'll be able to pick one up unless it's an amazing deal.

Good luck. I got lucky about a year and half ago at a gunshow. Picked up a nice shooter for $700. Before that, the cheapest one I ever saw was $300 and had no bluing on it. Couldn't tell if it was chromed.

Most shops have lay-a-way. Have them order you one after you find it on-line & pay it off over a period of time. I had to do this with my recent P7M13. No way I had $1200+ to spend at once!
