I've wanted a P14 for a decade now. It's a weapon that's just always fascinated me, but every time I've been to the gun store I've managed to leave with something else. Well, now I really want one. I've heard good and bad things about their quality and customer service, but I don't think I'll ever be satisfied until I at least try one. I already have good weapons for CC and home defense, so for now, this will just be a "see how I like it" purchase before I do anything more serious than plinking with it––but those are both possibilities down the line (I know the P14 is probably too huge for CC, but I'd like to see how it feels, anyway). I've held Paras, and they fit my hands well, so that's not an issue, at least.
Unfortunately, Para's website seems incomplete, and I have some questions. I know I want a single action model, but I'm not sure on my other wants. First: are any P14 models available with a rail? I've seen reference on Gunbroker to 15 round magazines, but the Para website makes no mention of them––do they exist, and if so, are they any good? I'm not sure if I want stainless or black––how does the finish hold up on the black guns? Are any P14s available with night sights from the factory? Does anyone here have experience with the Big Hawg and standard P14, and if so, which would you recommend?
Thanks to anyone with advice!

Yes they exist (I think their 14 rounds..don't remember right off hand), and I haven't had any problems with the hi caps. I did have issues with the 10 rounders though. I'm not sure if I want stainless or black––how does the finish hold up on the black guns? I carried one of the black LDA's on duty, and it held up just fine. I then went to the stainless when it came out though. Are any P14s available with night sights from the factory?I belive so..at least the LDA's do. I have carried two Para LDA full size (P14 type), as well as the Para Cary model. I love Para's, and have never had problem's with the CS dept.
15 Round mags are 14 round mags with a plus one floor plate. i.e. - they aren't flush fit on the grip.
Para decided not to sell railed guns to the general public for some reason... your only hope is a used/previously owned one or a getting into a group "special" run of them.
I don't know how Para does their sights, But I have seen new ones in shops with night sights.
In any case they have been pretty good with their dovetails in the last few years and aftermarket ones are available.
The paracoat spray on finish is not really durable. It will wear on the contact points of your holster fairly quickly.
I touch mine up occasionally with a gun black pen from birchwood casey and that works fairly well.
Thank you for the responses. Anyone else?
