My friend has a TZ that looks just like a Sig 226 9mm. Does anyone know anything about these pistols? I remember along time ago they had a CZ copy and got terrible reviews from the gun mags, but that was at least 15 years ago. He says it even takes Sig mags but I can't find anything about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's probably a Tressito (TZ) TZ-99. They were produced for the South African LEO & .mil community, but IIRC the contract fell through and the company went bust. They are not a CZ product, but a clone of one (the CZ-99).

They are an improved P226, and are very slick guns. Well made and well thought of. They do take a proprietary mag, but a 226 mag can be easily modified to work by duplicating the release notch.

I had one and sold it, but I still regret doing so, it was a good gun.

If it is distributed by Charles Daly or affiliates (might also be labeled WALTHER) recently carried by CDNN it is a SERBIAN gun. CZ does not always mean Czeska Zbrojovka CZ is a national trademark of sorts. This particular made by ZASTAVA sahe manufacturers of great AKs. You also see CZs out of Strojirna niethewr are from the Uhersky Brod manufacturer so many here love myself included. I don't think the CZ-99 entered service before or during the Balkans war but I have little reservation in guessing its a good buy. The ADCO distributed guns from Strojirna were rated bad pic at far bottom..

This is likely it............................

More here.
