Hello,

I was wondering what size/type of punches I would need to do a detail strip for a hi power (without any damages or scratches)

this seems excessive to me....:

I couldn't open your link? But, what Bob Reed reccomended here for a punch set is not excessive if you want to do it correctly with the Browning Hi-Power. Be careful if your not to handy with your hands. Marks and scratches can happen very easily.

And I also recommend having this informative disassembly guide from the late Stephen Camp. God, was he a blessing to Hi-Power owners.........

I would recommend against a harbor freight set of punches (they bend and break at the wrong time).

But check out your local family owned hardware (not lowes or HD) store. Ought to be able to get some decent quality punches at normal prices.

This set is cheap, and is all you need. You need the 1/16" puch for the extractor roll pin. All you really need is the 1/16" and the 3/32", but for what you'll pay for those 2 by themselves, you can get the whole set.
