I have an older Browning Hi-Power MkII with the factory black matte finish.
This is the finish that factory used to use that looks and feels like paint.
I want to remove this finish and have it refinished with something else.
Anybody know what I can use to remove this finish?

Are you positive it is a MKII? (integral front sight, rib on top of slide, drain hole @ muzzle end of slide)
The overwhelming majority of MkII's were parkerized only........no epoxy coat like that on the later MkIII's.

If yours is one of the Israeli imports it was most likely painted by them, not FN/Browning.

My MkII also has the epoxy painted finish. I bought it back in 1999 and it was advertised as a former Izzy piece. Date code is 88 manufacture.
