Cerakoted my P3AT...now it doesn't work at all.

Worked perfect before the re-finish, but the slide was rusty and pitted and hard to maintain. Sent it off, got it back, and now the barrel hood shows lots of galling in the cerakote and the gun jams at least 50% of the time. I'm using hot Federal PD loads.

What takes off Cerakote? I'd like to remove it from the barrel hood where it contacts the top edge of the ejection port.

Also, I bought a P32 that had been refinished by a different company (CCR), and it works perfect.

Wire wheel I suppose would work, and polish it up a bit to help improve some of the problems you've been having. I had the same problem with a Moly Resined M&P, it was flawless for about 2000 rounds prior to coating, then it started hicuping. It broke in but looked like shit so I just polished the barrel and bam, it worked perfectly again.

^ This.
Same thing happened on one of the wifes 9MM's after the custom finish she "had" to have.
Took the coating off with a wire wheel and polished it up with a dremel/ polishing compound. Worked great after that and the polished barrel hood looked pretty good.

i had a glock coated, a 19 that ran perfect for thousands of rounds prior to the coating.

after, couldnt even feed a round and when it did feed the round wouldnt extract.

looks like they coated everything including the ramp and chamber. I bought a pack of really fine grit sand paper like 1500 or more grit.

with a little sanding with oil, the ramp came to a mirror shine. then I used a dremel on slow speed with the cloth barrel type polishing wheel and ran it a little in the chamber with hardly any pressure.

after that, the gun has ran another 2 or so thousand rounds without a single hiccup. even my wife who limp wrists hasnt been able to get it to jam.

So in your case, did you actually polish the cerakote, or you removed the cerakote, then polished the bare metal?
