I have always wanted one, and I am considering picking one up for a 3-gun pistol, probably in 9mm.

Any owners want to chime in?

I have owned a couple of CZ variants before, and I always liked them.

I have a CZ 75 Tactical Sports in 9mm. It's a great Pistol and scary accurate.

What do you want to know? Happy to help.

I don't own a Tactical Sports, but can comment on how they feel in the hand. The frame is a bit large, in fact it is really bulky compared to the 75 frame.

CZ now has the 75 Shadow CTS which is a CZ 75 Shadow frame with a Tactical Sports topend (slide). Which is the best of both worlds. If I could find one in 9mm, I would be overjoyed...

You can order them in Single Action or DA/SA.

I've got one in .40 but in 9mm, I think I'd just go with a an SP-01 or 75SA. You can add an SA trigger to the SP-01 if you want. Only if you need the mag capacity of the TS platform in 9mm would I suggest it. The grip is fine with the thin aluminum grips, but may still be a handful if you have short fingers. The mag release button will be too long with the thin grips and need to be ground down.

I am a big handed, big guy. I was thinking of picking up a 9mm TS for a 3-gun pistol. I like the SA only action and the large capacity. Ive heard its pretty heavy which should help with recoil.

I'm using my for 3-Gun, not IPSC or IDPA, since in 9mm - it wouldn't make sense there.

For 3-Gun, it' perfect IMO. Just order the 7.5mm w/1.5 size Fiber Optic Front Sight from CZ Custom and you're ready to compete with it in 3-Gun.

I have big hands as well - it's no bigger in the Grip than a 2011 Pistol.

Key is that it runs reliably where an STI 2011 in 9mm is a jam-a-matic ... My 2 cents ...

What 3-gun ruleset are you running with?

The TS is only going to get 20 rounds in a mag - extensions on the 9mm mags won't work (due to the suporting "ribs" in the tube).

A standard 75 variant with SP-01 tubes and CZC short extensions will get around 21 rounds in a 140mm mag. If you can go even longer, you could run the long extensions on SP-01 tubes. Yes, the TS has big sticks available now in 9mm because of the Czechmate, but I've heard lots of stories concerning particularly poor reliability when fully loaded (and they only get 26 rounds anyway - one of three reasons why I won't buy a Czechmate).

FWIW, I seem to be one of the only people that would never let anybody cut up my TS to drop weight off of the frame (the "CTS treatment"). There apparently aren't many people that like driving a Limited/Standard gun that weighs over 3# unloaded.

IMO, your best bet would be to buy one of the SP-01-based SAO offerings from CZC.

I've got a TS in 9mm & use it for both USPSA & 3 Gun. As mentioned, scary accurate & it had a great trigger from the git go.

20rd flush-fit mags makes capacity one's friend as well.
