 CZ85B problems

I bought a CZ85B used a little over a year ago. Imported in 94 by magnum research. I took it out to the range on several occaisions about 500 rds shot, no problems. No idea on round count prior to purchase. I installed a 16lb recoil spring.
Since installation I've had the slide lock back during strings of fire. A simple push on the slide lock, or sling shot the slide puts it back in action. I usually load mag to 10rds at the range. Slide usaully gets hung up on rounds 3,5 ,7, 8, then sometimes it will go through all 10 without issue. I reinstalled old recoil spring and had similar issues. I then cleaned my magazines. Still having issues. Mags are Mec-Gar 16rds. Had two other familiar with handguns shoot it with similar results.

Any suggestions.

Have you tried going back to the original recoil spring?

The slide stop needs to be recontoured. The part that is hit by the follower inside the gun is being hit by a cartridge in the mag. You will probably see some copper rubbed on the part causing interference.

Bingo! Took a look at slide stop and noticed copper on rear portion of slide stop were it engages mag follower. Would new slide stop have the correct contour? I'm not to keen on taking a file to the slide stop.

Thanks

File it, cut an angle of the back corner in a smooth radius. Just make sure some part engages the follower. Take the slide off, pop in the slide stop, then insert a mag with a round loaded to check your progress.

I agree, just file it. If you are concerned, order a new one and see if it is ok, and if not, file that one. Not an uncommon thing to do now and then.

Thanks for the help. Problem solved with a little filing.
