Dan Wesson RZ-10
I have never heard of this weapon before. 10MM 1911 style. It is being brought to me in a few days to look at. A worth while weapon and what would be considered a good price? I was told that it needs new grips. I plan to have (again) a 1911 style but always just considered .45 ACP. Any thoughts/info?
10mm = expensive ammo & hard to find. Stick with .45acp unless the price is really really good.
If I am not mistaken, he said $600 with 600 or so rounds of gold dot.

You are probably mistaken...if not JUMP on that ASAP

So you think that I could use that to explain to my wife why I am spending $ in December with Christmas and property taxes and all of the other stuff that comes at the end of the year?

I own an early Dan Wesson made RZ10 with adjustable rear sights (new ones have fixed sights). It is a well made accurate weapon. The only thing that would make me sell it is if I found my dream gun in a long slide. They usually bring $800-900 on Gunbroker.
I've handled the 10mm and have shot a DW 45. 10mm is not a causal caliber for a 1911. I've got a 10mm 1911 and its fun to shoot, but I couldn't feed it regularly without handloading. Sounds like you've got a corner on that with the gold dot ammo
I should see it Friday night. I am problaby going to pass simply because it is not someting that is grabbing me. But then again I haven't held/shot it yet. Just to buy something because it may be worth a lot more than you are paying usually isn't a good enough reason
unless you are planning to make a profit down the road. Then again, someone else offered me their G-22 for $300. Now that is something that I could use. (And still have $ for Christmas!

)
Well the weapon was sold before it made it to the house. I guess that I don't have to explain anything to the wife.

Meaning you bought it immediately, or someone else bought that badboy before you evet got a chance to see it?
Sorry to take so long to get back to you. No, someone else bought it before it made its way to my house. Someone that I work with was helping to sell it for a friend of his. Our paths were not going to cross for 3 days and in that time a buyer in his county was found. And the price was indeed $600 with around 600 rounds of gold dot. It was a good thing that I really wasn't in the market for it because I would have been upset.
