Old FIE, from the early/mid 1990's, before they broke up into two companies, EAA and Heritage.

This is nothing more than a TZ-75 with slide mounted safety/decocker. Think of it as an Italian made Baby Eagle/Jericho, which is in fact what it is.

The QC was up and down, but they are solid and can be fixed, if they do not work.

If you're asking about the EAA Witness pistols in general, I have no complaints. I had a .45 Compact that I sold only because I was getting out of that caliber. I now own a 10mm witness, and it has run fine the little I've shot it. Ergonomics are fine, function is fine. I'm not a big DA/SA fan in general, but the Witnesses are nice as those go.

I have one of the blued TZ-75's in 9mm. Pretty good trigger and accurate but mine has ejection problems that may be related to a previous owners attempt to clean the chamber with a steel brush. I would like to find a new barrel for it but the only place that I have been able to find a possible replacement is EFK Firedragon. The stuff I have heard about their barrels is all over the place, both good and bad.

Good looking pistol.

Have you though about just buying a Tanfoglio barrel?

Numrich has them for about $75

You have a link? The only reference to Tanfoglio on the Numrich homepage is for Armi Tanfoglio and no barrels show up for that. Saw a reference to TZ 75 in the FIE section but only mags there.

http://www.e-gunparts.com/product.asp?chrProductSKU=114190

EUROPEAN AMERICAN ARMORY
9MM HANDGUN BARRELS
Item No. 114190
Barrel, 9mm, 4-1/2
Retail Price: $73.70

EAA also has them on their website for ~$100.00. I think that the Jericho 941/Baby Eagle barrels will fit. As always, these barrels should be fitted, rather then dropped in. The degree of fitting will vary.

Jericho 941/Baby Eagle/EAA Witness/ArmaLite AR-24 magazines should fit as well.

ETA: When you buy magazines, ensure that you buy the "Small Frame" magazines, as the "Large Frame" magazines are for the post 1995 Tanfoglio's.

Small Frame Magazine: 1.250" x 0.800"

Large Frame Magazine: 1.345" x 0.850"

Hmmm. I wonder what diameter those are. I will have to drop EAA a line and ask. I know some of the CZ replacement barrels are .502 and some are .550, and I have the .502 in mine. Thanks for the link.

If I remember correctly the larger barrels are for the post 1995 handguns, the so-called T-95.

Briley and EGW also made barrels for the EAA's, but with a lack of IPSC shooters in the US that use it, they stopped.

You might be stuck with the EFK, or maybe contact ArmaLite and ask about their AR-24.

Only costs a phone call.

as to Tanfoglio, look at the EAA Witness Elite Match series.

No luck with EAA for a barrel. So be it.

I remember owning a TZ75 in blue in the mid 80s. It had problems with feeding ball ammo. The really early guns had some fitment issues
