Makarov?
Me and my brother found a deal if you buy two makarovs, they come out to $150 a piece.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience or opinions on Plish Makarovs?
I have seen Bulgarian, East German and Russian, but no Polish Maks. Some distributors call the P64 a Polish Makarov but they are actually PPK clones in 9mm Mak.

Really snappy recoil, some people don't like the ergonomics of them but $150 is an okay price if that's the total cost. After trying out different 9x18s, the standard Makarovs from the USSR, DDR, Bulgaria and China really are better IMO but I picked up some of the other kinds because $100-100+ was cheap enough to tempt me into trying them out. If you have $150 for novelty purposes I'd say go for it but if you have high expectations or major use for the P64, I'd say pass.
Did you know we have a dedicated Makarov forum?
Polish Maks are pretty good.
I will chime in that the Polish "Makarovs" are quite good. They shoot the Makarov 9x18mm round, but it's wrong to call them a Mak, they're a "P-64". They are (obviously) heavily based on the Walther PPK, and somewhat on the true Makarov. I bought two of them from J&G Sales. One of them I modified to carry cocked & locked by disabling the decocker when the slide is in battery. Taking the slide slightly out of battery with the safety on still decocks safely.
You will hear people say that these have snappy recoil, and this is true. It's not horrible though, I've put 100's of rounds through mine in a session with no ill effects. You will also hear people say that the DA pull is almost intolerable. This is also true, in stock form.
If you get one, you really need to get an extra-power recoil spring from Wolff, and their 17 pound mainspring. This combination helps with the recoil, and lightens the DA pull significantly. You can also pull my "cocked & locked" mod, and eliminate the need for a DA pull altogether. Another mod I performed was replacing the detent spring on the safety, as in stock form the safety is quite stiff.
What you won't hear many people talk about (probably because they've read about these guns and not actually fired one) is that the gun is amazingly accurate for it's size. It has a very, very light SA pull. So despite the SA trigger having a lot of uptake, and a lot of over-travel, trigger control is less of an issue on these. It only gets better with the Wolff mainspring and some polishing. I shoot this pistol better than any of my other CCWs. Additionally, these guns have been nothing but reliable. Another thing to keep in mind is the lack of spare parts availability. This is a surplus gun, and not a very popular one at that. But, because of the price you can get two or three and keep one for parts.

The Polish P-64 is a long way from being a Makarov. Not saying that in a bad way, but they are totally different guns. The only thing they have in common is the 9x18 round. The p-64s are usually priced far below true Makarovs.

There's a couple of other non-makarovs that shoot the 9x18 and they're okay too, just not as good at the Makarovs IMO but way cheaper, so worth buying.

PA63
PA-63 is a decent gun,has mine for about a year, accurate little pistol especially with hand loads, slide and hammer spring change make a big difference in the DA trigger pull and slide function.

The CZ 82 is a much better gun that the Mak. Superior trigger, better sights, better grip, higher capacity, ergonomic, ambidextrous Mag release, and safety, cocked and locked feature, less expensive, as well. All it's missing is a de cocker. The finish isn't great either. The Makarov is a decent pistol but it's not a better gun than the CZ 82/83. It's not in the same class.
Usually, I find your opinions on handguns to be spot on. Your Lebowski knowledge is flawless. If I wasn't a family man I might consider being your stalker

, but you're way off on this one. If you don't own a CZ 82 and are a fan of the 9X18 Mak, you are missing a great pistol.

Is there a forum on this site that you don't visit!? LOL
+1 for the PA63. After replacing the recoil spring with a heavier weight one and a lighter hammer spring they are actually fairly enjoyable to shoot. However, since they do have a AL frame, the have a bit more recoil than an actual Makarov that is all steel.
