This isn't a Rock island .45 thread, that horse has been beat to death. As we all know the Rock Island .45 is truly awesome and a great bargain. I have one and shoot the hell out of it with no major issues.

My question is has anyone had and experience with their other pistols, namely the MAP1 FS? From what I've seen on the website it looks like a CZ-75. If anyone has any experience with these let me know. Pretty much I'm looking for reports on accuracy, reliability and all the other normal things one asks for in these type threads. Also pics would be a plus. I imagine if Rock Island was doing a CZ-75 clone that it would be built with the same quality as the 1911's.

I'm looking at this as a pistol for the wife.

Tanfoglio.

This gun is similar the the CZ, but the design is a bit different. You can rack the slide while on safe with this design.

It isn't quite on the CZ level IMHO, but it is a good design. In all steel, they are heavy. A polymer gun would be lighter.

I see they make a polymer pistol. That shaves about a pound off. Id like to find a place that stocks them and see for myself but working over the road kinda puts a damper on that.

For a gun at the range and house, get all steel.

If you want a carry gun, get something else. That size gun will likely be difficult for a woman to carry.

This wont be a carry gun, just something to call hers so she leaves mine alone. For no more shooting than she does, I think this will fit the bill perfectly. Is she finds something different she wants later down the road we'll burn that bridge when we get there then.

It's a good choice then. All steel 9mms are a blast to shoot. You'll both like it a bunch.

I currently sport an MP9 and Rock Island Tactical. She just wants something for her, she already rocks a Del-ton carbine. Were just working on increasing her numbers.
