 Stainless steel Kahr's all stainless??

I have an early stainless steel Kahr K9.
The slide and frame are stainless, as are a few small internal parts.
However, the barrel, trigger, slide stop, slide end cover, and most all other parts are hard chrome plated carbon steel.
Since I ordered this one direct from a big distributor, that's how it was made by Kahr.

Are newer Kahr's all stainless now or are some parts still plated?
You can ID the hard chrome parts because the color is slightly different than true stainless.

BTW, I can't even induce this one to jam.
It's shot anything I've fed it right out of the box, including the horrible old Egyptian 9mm ammo I bought back in the early 80's and used to break it in. That stuff didn't want to work in much of anything, but the Kahr ate it up.

None of the early guns were stainless, they were nickle plated carbon steel. If yours says "STAINLESS" on the frame then I believe the entire gun is although I'm not 100%.

It is a stainless marked gun, but as above many parts are NOT stainless, they're hard chrome plated.

I'm assuming early stainless guns were a mix, but I'm wondering is current Kahr's are all stainless or if some parts are still plated.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying you had an early gun that you thought was stainless not an earlier stainless gun. My bad.

My K9 is a newer model,it has the same plated parts as yours does.I'm not even sure that the slide stop isn't plated.

Thanks, I was just wondering if the hard chrome plated parts were an early feature or if they'd gone to all stainless in newer production.
