History of the v16 long slide 1911?
Does anyone know when Springfield produced the v16 long slide? And can it shoot both 45acp and 45 super?
it can and probably 12-15 years ago.
the cartridge was designed(?)by Ace someone around kerrville tx.
originally the SA guns said 45Super but Ace passed away and his son filed for cpyright infringement and they dropped the Super part, iirc.
the loads are listed in the hogdon magazine-type book. i also have the original loadd from the shotgu news interview w/Ace.
if you have or can find a "Super" gun, you have a keeper.
remember to use"Super" brass from starline.
