Not a gunsmith here but I NEED to put a "trigger kit" in my son`s XD9 for him. He`s 5 hours away and I need help in selecting a good upgrade kit. Can I even do this? I live in a remote area and due to the time crunch I`m in I`m considering doing this my self. TIA
Very easy to do if you have any mechanical skills. All you need are some good punches, rough and fine grit sandpaper or set of stones, small hammer(brass)lightweight will do, and some time. Both of the companies I am going to recommend both have excellent customer service and will guide you through any problems you may have. Plus they both have step by step youtube videos to walk you through the process.
I have used Springer precision in the past and the trigger is great. I would be very happy to use them again. However I'm a curious guy and I just bought a new XDM 5.25" 9mm and I'm going to upgrade that trigger also. So this time around I"m going to try the Powder River Precision kit. It's different parts than the springer but does the same thing. However I keep hearing good things about them and I'm going to give them a try also. I fully suspect it will be just as good as the springer and accomplish the same task. If you do have time all of them do the kit install for you if you send in your pistol. If you decide to try the send it in route than add Canyon Creek customs to the mix. He also does a trigger work-up on the xd but I don't think he sells a drop in kit for you to install yourself.

Thanks for your input!
This is , with respect to reliability, beyond my perceived skills. I like the kits you mentioned but I think I`ll pass this to a gunsmith for installation
