So I bought a 9mm XDM 3.8 back when they came out (as a gift for my wife.... eheheheheheh...).
I recently got my CCW and would like to start carrying, but I'd prefer to have the XDMc 9mm. Basically,
the same gun I already have, just with the shorty grip.
I called Springfield and asked if I could buy or swap my 3.8 frame for the compact frame and the girl
all but laughed at me (figured as much).
Do I have any options here other than selling this gun and buying the other? Seems like a huge waste
of money just for the shorter grip, but I really would prefer it for CCW.

I think springer precision can shorten your grip for you , and then you could just buy the shorter mags. I know they shorten xd frames , but i dont know if they can do the xdm because of the interchangable backstraps. It would be worh a call
These guys
Or these guys
There might be more, I didn't look very long, but these were the first 2 that came up.
Or you could just buy the gun that you want.
Or you could sell it and get the one that you want.
Springer was the first link, they actually do some posting around here. They know there XD's very well.
