After 6 months of nagging at myself and reading reviews and more reviews until that search overload happens.. Somehow a brand new xdm 45 followed me home this past Saturday. I currently have a duramatic 101 .22 plinker (awesome accuracy at that), marlin 22 bolt action, savage 410, and good ole rem 870. I thought I wanted more of a handgun and decided on the plunge... heck with the 9mm, .40.. jumpin on the 45. Purcashed 100 rounds of pmc bronze and fired off a few rounds on Sunday (ok 2on rounds left over). Wow! not 1 problem with the ammo or weapon accept for my aim. I just need alot of practice. Had my father pull off a couple of rounds and all within 4inch grouping @ 25ft.. And here iam lucky to hit the paper target..With the duramatic I can just about nail a flys ass but ive been shootin with it for +20 years. Now its down to shoppin for ammo bargains/mags and getting the feel of it. 1 thing I am not really liking so far is the length of trigger pull and seen the springer precision trigger mod but gonna wait untill I have atleast +400 rounds through it before doing anything. Ohh this is just kinda for plinkin and hd alongside the 870. No concealment/carry.

Ohh and gotta have a pic... regarldess yall have seen them all before

get the trigger job done –– springer I hear is great, the springfield custom shop is fantastic in my experience –– also an extended mag release is nice as well as night sights.I had springfield reduce the takeup to almost nothing and reduce the pull to about 3# and damn this is a sweet trigger!

Congrats, it's a great handgun and you will get many, many years of good use out of it.
