Hello all, my father is considering selling his S&W "Dirty Harry" 44 mag, and I was wondering if you all could give me a rough appraisal on it. He's the original owner and has only put 12 rounds through it. The thing is like new in box, and has rarely even left the box.

Thanks

are you refering to the special edition SW 29 that was made a few years ago? IIRC it had the odd length barrel, like 6.5".

If yours is just a model 29, it would be better for you to give more info.

> finish
> BBl length
> model # 29-x (x = some rev number if any)
> s/n
> any mods/changes damage.

value depends on condition and if its a collector, completeness

6.5 is not an odd length. S&W made that bll length for many years in the .44 Mags. You need to find out what model it is. If it's the 29-8 "Dirty Harry" commemorative gun that came with the badge and display box, you're probably looking at about $900-$1000. The 1950's to early 60's manufactured .44 Magnums are the ones that carry a premium.
