need a price check on a smith and wesson .500

its a 10.5 inch barrel and it has a polished chrome finish..any idea what it is worth, buy it off of a friend for $400 is it a good deal?

eta: polished chrome? He may have spent some time with Mothers Mag or Flitz; the .500s are all stainless. Regardless, a .500 is a $800-1000 gun.

I'm at the office so I can't look it up in the S&W catalog, but at $400 I would buy it with plans on reselling it. No interest in the 500, but that is a good price no matter who you ask.
ETA:
Cheapest on GB right now is $850. With about $1k being the average.

I'd grab it for sure at that price! I have an Encore in handgun and long gun configuration in 500 so I guess I'm a little biased though.
